Ten of us got together from Group 1 of the Singles Sunday Lunches on Sunday 25th June, at the Waterside Restaurant in Market Harborough. It was lovely to be able to catch up with everyone but, unfortunately the service was excruciatingly slow. The fish was off the menu and the beef was rather tough. This happened on a previous Sunday lunch visit when I could not get my knife through either the beef or the carrots. I asked for a steak knife but, when it came, this too was unable to cut them and I ended up having to have a meat pie for my lunch. We wondered whether they had a staff shortage in the kitchen. I do know that when I visited the restaurant a few days after the previous disastrous lunch, the food was excellent. It seems to be only the lunches on Sundays which are the problem.
