August will follow on from our last meeting’s theme of “fast trains” and be in contrast to the more leisurely pace of the Harborough railway scene of 50 years ago. There will be some photo snippets and videos to refresh the memories of those times and doubtless some of our long-standing Harborough members will be able to fill in the missing details! As usual, coffee & biscuits will be served beforehand .
The group accepted a very kind offer from the owner of the old Crossing Keeper’s cottage on Scotland Road, to visit after our meeting. Extremely interesting and much better than RightMove! With an increasing number of new members we’ve now decided to resurrect some of our earlier material regarding Harborough locally and expect this to be of interest in revealing what a busy railway centre Harborough once was.
