Play Reading (Modern) – November meeting

A:  What kind of paint are you using?
B:  The shade is crushed mimosa.
A:  But it’s gloss paint.  You want car enamel.
B:  Don’t tell me about paint.  I was in the infants’ school.  I won a prize for painting.
A:  But it’s all lumps.  You’ve got to mix it.
B:  I have mixed it, only I went and got some Madeira cake in it.

Alan Bennett brings to life the fifteen years during which Miss Shepherd, the Lady in the Van, deigned to take up residence, apparently as of right, in his front garden in Camden Town.  We start reading this play on November 15th, and you’d be very welcome to join us!  David Ginns.
