This week we had our first quilt show outing for the year, to Quilts UK, Malvern. It is some years since we went to the Malvern show and we thought it would make a nice change from Duxford, where we plan to go later in the year. What a super day we had, there were plenty of traders eager to separate us from our cash, and many, many beautiful quilts to study and admire. As we have so many projects on the go and so much fabric in our stash, we had all decided that we were not going to buy very much at all this time. Yeah, right. As usual, fabric ‘spoke’ to us and we just had to have some; or that pattern was just what we’ve been looking for (notwithstanding the dozens of similar ones already at home!); or that thread is so lovely it will surely come in handy one day. Yes, we all fell at the first hurdle! The exhibition quilts were beautiful and we were all inspired by the artistry and workmanship on show. Now back to the sewing machine to try and conjure up something just as lovely! We are now all looking forward to our next outing to the Festival of Quilts at the NEC, Birmingham, in August. See you there! Lesley, Edith & Chris.
