On the afternoon of Tuesday, 16th August, thirty members of the Local History Group enjoyed an afternoon exploring the Holy Trinity Church in Rothwell, plus hearing a very informative talk by Bryan Doughty. This beautiful Church has one of the finest crypts in the country, filled with bones and skulls (not for the fainthearted). The afternoon was rounded off by a magnificent tea provided by one of our members, Brenda Austin, who with her ladies served mouthwatering cakes and much needed teas and coffees. Many thanks to both Norman and Brenda Austin for organising this visit for us. We all went home feeling very full and happy and are all very much looking forward to visiting Boughton House in September. Janice Tilley.
