A Happy New Year to you all. I hope that everyone had an enjoyable Christmas. There was a very distressing incident just before Christmas when two ladies from the Book Club were trapped in the lift at the Congregational Church and the Fire Brigade had to to be called to get them out. This now means that the lift at the church is out of action at the moment. We are hoping that this will be rectified very soon. I understand that the ladies are recovered from this experience and that they are safe and sound.
I have been contacted by a member who wishes to start a group to learn Basic Holiday French. The group will be a self help group where members will use cds, phrasebooks, dictionaries etc in order to learn enough French to get them through a holiday. If you are interested in doing this type of French Group please could you email me at email@example.com
A couple of ideas came from a meeting attended by Helen Salisbury and Rose Gale :
Bus Pass Tours where the group decides where to go on a given day using their bus passes and a Bookworm Group which is where everyone talks about the book they have been reading but not necessarily read by the whole group.
We are still very keen to promote new groups in 2019 so if anyone does have any ideas about starting a new group please get in touch with me. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
