I hope you are all keeping cool in this heatwave. For myself, I have been enjoying a couple of short breaks and a trip to Poland to explore a different culture, several Polish cities and the Tatra Mountains. For those reasons, all has been quiet on the SLU3A front with no July Committee meeting and our next one scheduled for August, when the 4 new members will join us.
At the August Monday morning monthly meeting, Sarah Cawdell, our Gift Aid Manager, will be sitting in the Lounge, prompting you to sign the Gift Aid Declaration form, if you have not already done so, and, if you have, to agree to us back claiming to 2015 by ticking the relevant years. Yes, as with many things today, we need an audit trail before we can do so! Finally, if you have completed the form for a joint declaration, the audit trail requires separate declarations! Does this sound a little complicated, then Sarah will be there to explain. If you are unable to make the next couple of Monday morning meetings, then please complete the declaration and send it to Sarah at 13 David Hobbs Rise, Market Harborough LE16 7YE. Alternatively, go to our website, download the form (About Us/Membership) and bring it in or post it. Alternatively, go to our website, download the form and bring it in or post it or scan the completed and signed form and email to email@example.com.
Finally, we are seeking volunteers to represent SLU3A at a Leicestershire and Rutland Quiz night on Wednesday 10 October 2018 at 7 pm in Newbold Verdon. You can see the poster here. Interested? Email: firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07837 410 575.
