I am looking forward to reading a bumper edition of our newsletter this month, reflecting the innovative activity that groups and members have been enjoying during this unusual year in order to follow interests and keep in touch. More locally, there has been an opportunity to help those that may be facing hardship at the moment. Firstly, it was fascinating to hear from member Colin Cohen about Charles Dickens’ contribution to the history of foodbanks and maybe many of us will be able to support the local Jubilee Foodbank as we go about our Christmas food shopping? You will also see elsewhere in the newsletter that members of the Crafting for Charities group have been busy during the long winter evenings, making and donating items for families with young children being supported by the Growbaby project in Northampton. Lastly, a special, paper copy of the December newsletter and signed Christmas card will be delivered to those members for whom we do not hold an email. Best wishes from the Committee and myself for the Christmas season, however that unfolds this year.
Best wishes Helen Salisbury Chair, SLU3A
