From the Chair

We have a busy, and I hope exciting, year ahead for SLU3A.  We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary at the May monthly meeting and details of how to buy your ticket (to include refreshments) will be available next month.  On Saturday evening  16th May we hope you will join us at the Celidh (again, tickets available shortly)  and our October monthly meeting will celebrate the Sixties.  On Wednesday 3rd June we will be working with Market Harborough U3A on a joint, daytime activity to celebrate and publicise all that U3As achieve.  It is also pertinent to mention here that there will not be a monthly meeting in April as the second Monday falls on Easter Monday.

On the Committee side, we will continue to hone our systems for collecting and paying rents.  We are all volunteers and having spent much time last month working with several Committee members to reconcile group payments against invoices, we have to work towards implementing less time consuming and accurate ways of doing this on a monthly basis.  Ongoing help from members paying group subs regularly, to group leaders paying them in and Committee member role holders checking them against invoices before payment, your ongoing cooperation will be invaluable.

On a final note, do join the 15,000 U3A members nationally who have signed up for the national, monthly, electronic newsletter: it looks forward to what is being planned and offers signposts to sources of help for group activities.  Go to:
