After 19.5 years as Treasurer for SLU3A, David Kyle stepped down at the May AGM. Former Chairman, Don Collins, proposed a thank you and round of applause from members. On behalf of Group Leaders and Committee members, Helen Salisbury, Chair presented David with a token of their thanks. There are several treats in store for Margaret and David to enjoy now that they can fully enjoy their retirement: a meal at Ascoughs, a trip on the Great Central Railway with tea or lunch and one of the superb teas at Farndon Fields Farm Shop.
In response, David has sent the following message:
“I have been trying to conjure up some unique words to convey my thanks for the magnificent gifts you presented to me last Monday. I have not been able to find an suitable expression which shows my appreciation other than a very, very sincere and enormous THANK YOU to Yourself, the Committee and the Group Leaders.
The choice of vouchers was inspired! Margaret and I will get great enjoyment from the kindness you have lavished in our direction.
Very best regards
