We are already looking forward to December! What better time could there possibly be for planning Christmas activities other than in the middle of the hottest summer for 40+ years? No time like the present perhaps!
Below you will find menu details of the SLU3A Christmas Dinner at Hothorpe Hall on Friday 14th December 2018 at 12 noon for 12-30pm. The cost is £26 per head. We have a fairly tight reservation time-frame with Hothorpe Hall and so your kind attention to making a booking as soon as possible will be most appreciated. Lightly spiced butternut squash soup, sour cream and pumpkin seeds
Seared beef, watercress, horseradish, pickled vegetables and rye bread croutes
Oak Smoked salmon, avocado and prawn parcels, lemon mayonnaise and wild rocket.
Twice baked cheese soufflé, apple, celery and chilli candied walnuts
Traditional roast breast of local turkey, sage and onion stuffing, pigs in blankets, cranberry gravy.
Pan roasted fillet of cod, curried puy lentils, buttered brown shrimp, samphire
Slow braised blade of beef in our ‘Hopthorpe’ ale, root vegetable mash, and straw crisps
Moroccan spiced chickpea tagine, barberries, vegetable couscous and flat bread
Dark chocolate delice, cherry puree, mascarpone mousse
Steamed Christmas pudding, with brandy crème anglais
Lemon panna cotta, raspberry granola, raspberry sorbet
Gingerbread, toasted marshmallow, toffee popcorn, banana ice cream
