Despite it being on the summer solstice, persistent rain and a lack of cover at Sywell on last month’s visit there forced us to decamp to Summer Leys, where in the shelter offered by the two hides in the car park and employing a ‘let the birds come to us’ policy, we stayed dry and still saw thirty-three species. We added three new species (Little Ringed Plover, Ringed Plover & Reed Warbler) to our 2016 annual list, making eighty-nine so far.
Our next visit will be on 18th July, meeting at Sywell Country Park, pay & display car park, again at 10am and hoping for better weather this time. For further information, please call me. John Cameron.
