Bird Watching January Report

Fieldfare on the Brampton Valley Way

Once again our meeting took place as a Zoom session using the SLU3A’s Zoom Account. Unsurprisingly, with nobody embarking on birding expeditions since the January Lockdown, sightings were confined to local walks and garden observations.

Kingfisher behind Waitrose

We’d all pretty much seen the same, whilst out and about varying sizes of flocks of Fieldfare and Redwing and in the garden in addition to the usual Great and Bluetits flocks of Long-tailed Tit featured prominently. Those able to get into Harborough town centre were rewarded with Peregrine sightings on St. Dionysius’s church spire and down along the river a Kingfisher had been very obliging.
