Pat brought four delicious Australian whites to our May meeting, to show that not all Aussie white wine is vanilla-tasting chardonnay with oak chippings added. Indeed the one Chardonnay which she brought would have matched a decent French Burgundy. However the group gave the highest score to a bottle of Clare Valley Riesling bought from Majestic. Riesling is back in fashion again and it grows well in South Australia. Our next meeting will be our summer food and wine evening on 22nd June, starting at 7.30 pm. Sylvia is co-ordinating transport, and if you are uncertain about what food to bring please contact me immediately. John is bringing a selection of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to our July meeting, and we do not meet in August. Michael Switzer.
