London Beneath Your Feet, The Guildhall Art Gallery, Guildhall Yard, Thursday 18th May 2017.
An exclusive Roman study day for U3A members.  Delve into the hidden archaeological world that lies buried beneath the City of London with a day inspired by the Romans, explore London’s Roman Amphitheatre, visit a seldom-seen mosaic pavement and handle some genuine Roman artefacts with a trained archaeologist.  Examine Roman mosaics and find out how this ancient craft is again being used to decorate London’s streets.

West End Sing Out, The Savoy Theatre,  Tuesday, 9 May 2017.
The Ambassador Theatre Group’s West End Creative Learning team has created this one day bespoke event to bring together up to 150 U3A members from across the UK to enjoy the experience of working together with a professional West End Musical Director.  The group will fill the auditorium of a West End Theatre with a series of songs from various West End musicals.  Highlights include: warm-up exercises; learning songs; working with the MD on vocal qualities, tone and harmonies; recording pieces before the end of the day (a CD copy will be sent to you after the event).  Previous choir experience and the ability to read music is not necessary and the Sing Out is designed for all abilities and all voices.

Save the Date!  November 22nd!  One Thousandth U3A Celebration at Friends House, Euston Road, London, starting at 2pm.  Our keynote speakers will be Baroness D’Souza and Eric Midwinter.  We have a hall with a capacity of nearly 1000 and we would love as many members as possible to join us and make it a celebration worthy of this wonderful organisation.  Tickets will be £5.  So please note the date and tell your members.  More details will follow, including how to apply for tickets.  Lin Jonas, SEO/Company Secretary.
