Music Appreciation (Friday) – September & October meetings

At our September meeting we listened to a varied selection of musical styles ranging from a chamber work by Anton Arensky, a pupil of Tchaikovsky, to a suite for violin and piano by Erich Korngold, written long before he moved to Hollywood and the colourful Warner Brothers historical extravagances.  On the way, we dipped into choral works by Beethoven and Ralph Vaughan Williams, hoping that this pleased some of our group who have from time to time noted their absence.  Our next meeting will be on the 27th October.  Geoff Moth.
