At our May meeting we enjoyed the Grand Tour with Judith as we visited gardens from around the world and looked at how buildings and structures enhanced our appreciation of a garden. We visited too many places to name them all, but we travelled from Moorish Gardens at Alhambra to Landscape Gardens at Stowe; from the formality of the gardens at the Chateau de Versailles to the Arcadian landscape of Stourhead – and not forgetting Orangeries and Dovecotes! A delightful afternoon which should encourage us all to get out a bit more – weather permitting!
The next meeting is on Tuesday, 28th June, when we will learn something of the architecture to be found in Cirencester and Bradford-on-Avon. New members are always very welcome – we have plenty of room in our new venue.
