After two most enjoyable sessions in July, one making box cards and the other trying our hand at folk painting, we are now taking a break until September 6th. We shall resume as usual on the first and third Thursday mornings in the month in St. Nicholas Church Upper Room. Vivian Hammond
On 7th June we made 3D bird houses which folded flat to fit into an envelope. A lovely project Carolyn. Thank-you. Due to holidays and outings clashing we were thin on the ground for our second session so contented ourselves with completing past kits and exchanging ideas (and gossip)!
In May we had two sessions as usual, on the 1st and third Thursday mornings. On May 3rd we tackled ‘never-ending’ cards, requiring a great deal of concentration in order to achieve cards which folded this way and that way to provide four different decorated surfaces. ( It has occurred to me that perhaps these […]
The cards we completed in February were a delight, a Daisy Delight in fact, during our first session, when we completed two birthday cards, but the design could be used for other occasions too. The second session it was ‘that cut-away staircase card’ which demanded a great deal of concentration, but with the addition of […]
In November, our last month for card making this year, we worked ( or is it played? ) very hard. During the first session we made two beautiful Christmas cards, one of which involved stamping on acetate and the other constructing a wreath from paper pentagon shapes, thus indulging another pastime close to the authors […]
In October we had a successful time as ever, firstly making what I can only describe as ‘construction’ cards as demonstrated by Jill. One was an accordion-style card sporting playing cards and the other a maritime-themed flip card. Thank you for these ideas, both suitable to give to men – we always struggle with ‘man’ […]
Our sessions this month have been quite different. For the first session everyone was given a ‘goodie bag’, with a mixture of card, embellishments and templates to create their own designs. The second session was to make a ‘handbag card’ using a square of coloured card, a flower, leaves and sentiment, with time out to […]
No official cardmaking in August, but I am sure that has not stopped production by members of our group. We did however have two most enjoyable social events on what would have been our cardmaking session days. We met as a group for coffee and garden tours at the homes of two of our members […]
