We started to read ‘Cymbeline, King of Britain’ at our meeting on the 8th February in the Bowden Room. Our guide ‘Shakespeare in a Nutshell’ tells us it’s a comedy which has ‘a besieged Princess, a subtle villain and a fiendish queen, a banished lover and a bedroom scene’. Sounds fun! If you’d like to […]
Our next meeting is in the Bowden Room on the 14th February when the subject will be ‘Weird and Wonderful’. If you are interested, do please do come and join us! Phyllis Lord.

We are very grateful to Mike Milsom for his fascinating presentation in January on Uzbekistan. Next, Elaine will tell us about ‘A Local Railway Disaster in 1892’. As you see, we cover a wide range of topics! New members are very welcome on a regular or occasional basis, so why not come along? We next […]
Usually we meet on the last Friday of the month, 2-4pm at St Nicholas Church, Little Bowden. It’s a friendly group with varying degrees of skill, from beginners to the very experienced, and new members are always welcome. Each month we read out our pieces and agree on a title for the following month. The […]
Rehearsals are going well for our concert which will take place immediately after the AGM in May. New members are always welcome to join our very friendly group and if we had a sudden influx of gentlemen who can sing tenor or bass we could revert back to being a full choir. Joy Swallow.
The first ride this year is on Friday, 3rd March. Please meet at The Cherry Tree, Little Bowden, at 10.45am. We shall need to order our lunch before setting off. The route takes us through Clipston, Sibbertoft and Lubenham before returning to Market Harborough. Graham Swallow.
At our January meeting, the group (much depleted by illness) listened to some popular classics from Russian composers. We started with Mikhail Glinka’s overture ‘Ruslan and Lyudmila’ and this was followed by Tchaikovsky’s ‘Serenade for Strings’. After a slightly early interval we moved on to the ‘Violin Concerto No 2 in D Minor’ by Henryk […]
Greg, besotted with the delectable Ginny, has made the journey to leafy Bucks to ask her parents’ blessing. But the chap he takes to be Ginny’s father is actually her (married) former lover – who contrives to get the impression that this pleasant young man is in fact asking to marry Sheila, his wife! Somehow, […]
Hello Songsters! Our next session is this coming Friday, 10th February. Judith can’t be with us on this occasion but we’ll get by fine nonetheless. George will be leading us during the first part with songs that he has produced and I’ll be playing some records I’ve found recently of old favourites that we can […]
