We are starting the new year off by trying to finish one or two projects that we did last year and we are looking forward to making some special cards, etc, during 2017. We meet at Foxton Village Hall on the first and third Fridays of the month from 10am – 12noon. New members are […]
Happy New Year everyone. Please join us in saying a big ‘Thank You’ to all our interest group leaders and administrators whose continuing hard work and commitment allow us to offer a fantastic range of activities for you to enjoy in 2017. Why not try something new this year? Play Reading for example, or Discovering […]
We had just one meeting in December, when we really enjoyed our attempts at decopatch with very pleasing results. We shall start the new year gently with a share session, helping each other and catching up with unfinished projects. Then who knows what we have in store?! Viv Hammond & Carolyn Youdan.
We have been busy with concerts recently, including a contribution at our own U3A’s Christmas event, and so are now taking a break, finding more songs to play, and meeting up again on 24th January, and fortnightly thereafter. David Evans.
Our next walk is on Thursday, 19th January starting at 10am. It will be from Union Wharf (off Leicester Road, Market Harborough) to Great Bowden. The meeting place is the public car park and it will cover a distance of five miles on streets, fields and canal tow-path. We expect to return at about 12.30pm. […]
We meet on Tuesdays at 10am at the Evangelical Church in Bath Street, Market Harborough and normally play progressive rubber bridge for two hours. Our next ‘Gentle Duplicate’ (pairs) competition will be on 7th February. The December winners were N/S Pauline & John Cameron, E/W Ann Wood & Mary Hill. Our next ‘please yourself’ morning […]
We are a local (within one hour’s drive of Market Harborough) birdwatching group who try to help each other improve our identification skills and which beginners are very welcome to join. On our last outing, to East Carlton Country Park, we added four species (Goldfinch, Treecreeper, Brambling & Siskin) to our 2016 annual species list […]
The next walk is on Tuesday, 3rd January. Please meet at 10am to order food at Kilworth Springs Golf Club, which is located just off the A4304 between the villages of North Kilworth and South Kilworth. This easy walk of just under five miles goes through the golf course and then we follow the canal to […]
Our thanks to Pauline for laying on the mulled wine and food following our walk around the bye ways of Great Bowden. Bird-wise, green woodpecker and goldcrest were the pick of the bunch but otherwise not much to get excited about. However, who would have thought we could have been so entertained by a train […]
The next walk, which will be led by Bruce and Pauline White, will be on 26th January starting from the Crown Inn at Tur Langton. Please arrive in plenty of time to pre-order lunch and for a prompt start at 10am. The walk is circular and is about six miles. We are requested by the […]
